Description:
Created during Chapter 2 (2020 - 2023), this piece is part of the Versions of Robert Collection—a deeply personal body of work reflecting my journey through my mother’s stroke, dissociation, and eventual dementia. This period of my life involved immense inner soul work, each piece acting as a page in a diary, often accompanied by a poem or story.
This artwork captures the entwinement of two lovers, suspended between imperfection and perfection. Their faces reflect one another, yet they are not identical—each carrying the marks, rhythms, and histories of their past. The line work weaves subtle symbols within their forms, telling a deeper story of connection, scars, and growth.
The text within the artwork further emphasises its message:
• “Beauty loves beauty” – A reminder that true connection is found in embracing what is real, not what is flawless.
• “The rhythms of our past” – A reflection on the imprints we carry, the echoes of past experiences shaping the present.
• “Two lovers entwined” – A moment of togetherness, where two souls meet in a space beyond time and judgment.
This piece invites the viewer to explore the beauty of imperfection, the harmony in contrasts, and the timeless rhythm of love.
A visual meditation on love, memory, and the perfection within imperfection. The delicate balance of past and present, individuality and union, is reflected in the intertwined figures—two lovers, imperfect yet whole.

Poem (by Hafiz, The Gift):
It Felt Love
..
How
Did the rose
Ever open its heart
..
And give to this world
All its
Beauty?
..
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being,
..
Otherwise,
We all remain
Too
Frightened.
