Description:
 
Created during Chapter 2 (2020 - 2023), this piece is part of the Versions of Robert Collection—a deeply personal body of work reflecting my journey through my mother’s stroke, dissociation, and eventual dementia. This period of my life involved immense inner soul work, each piece acting as a page in a diary, accompanied by a poem or story.
 
“Mist of Mind” explores the complex relationship between thought and emotion, control and surrender. The layered mist-like forms in the painting reflect the mental fog that obscures clarity, while the subtle golden hints suggest moments of realisation and awakening. The tension between structured lines and fluid movement mirrors the struggle of navigating one’s thoughts—feeling trapped in cycles of overthinking, yet yearning for release.
 
The painting asks:
    •    Can we silence the noise within us?
    •    How do we balance intellect and emotion?
    •    Is freedom found in release, or in coexistence with the mind?
 
Through the mist, a journey unfolds—the moment when the mind is acknowledged, heard, and finally freed.

This piece invites the viewer to embrace the mist—not as an obstacle, but as a necessary passage toward self-discovery.
