Description:
Created during Chapter 2 (2020 - 2023), this piece is part of the Versions of Robert Collection—a deeply personal body of work reflecting my journey through my mother’s stroke, dissociation, and eventual dementia. This period of my life involved immense inner soul work, each piece acting as a page in a diary, often accompanied by spoken word poetry.
“The Mother of Love” captures the profound, unconditional love of a mother—a force that seeks to heal, protect, and remind us of who we are. The composition flows with energy, the brushstrokes mirroring whispers of reassurance, warmth, and devotion. The circular forms suggest an embrace, the eternal cycle of love, and the quiet power of presence.
This piece speaks to the unspoken sacrifices of a mother, the weight of carrying the emotions of others, and the longing to restore harmony. It is an offering—a reminder that love, at its purest, does not ask for recognition but simply exists to hold, to guide, and to give.
A visual tribute to the power of love, connection, and the quiet strength of a mother’s heart.

by Robert Paul:
The Mother of Love
..
I want to say the right words
I want to take your pain
I want things to be right
I hear your words
I hear everyone’s words
I hear my words
I hear my heart
I feel your hearts
I whisper my wishes
..
Let me hold you so tight
that you remember who you are
Let me love you so much
that you remember to love each other
..
From a mother in love with her children
..
